Dear Friends of the UK, This year, sparked by the success of the other National Days, and in the absence of our own true National Day, we the Brits have decided to start an annual tradition in Guangzhou. The first ever “British Day” will be held on May 15th 2010. The format of this event will be a family day out, held at the British School. The cost of entry for all attendees will be free. Food and drink will be available onsite for purchase. There will be games, a band, DJs, and plenty of activities for both children and adults. The target audience of this event is expatriate children and adults, and British alumni of Chinese nationality. Media coverage will be provided by Guangzhou English Channel, TALK Magazine, and That’s PRD. This event is not for profit and all proceeds will go to Red Cross China. No administrative fees will be applied for the organising of this event. Fapiaos will be able to be issued for cash sponsorship only. This event is independently organised with the support of the British Consulate in Guangzhou, The British Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong, the British Council and the British School Guangzhou. For information about the areas of cash and in-kind sponsorship, please kindly see the attachment. Sincerely, Becky Hayes And the “British Day” Organising Team |
